Website and WordPress maintenance

A useful website needs technical care as well as current information. We help businesses define what is maintained, who approves changes and how important journeys are checked afterwards.

Who it is for

For companies with existing WordPress or other websites that need an explicit process for changes, technical issues and responsibility handover.

The problem it solves

Outdated dependencies, unchecked forms and unclear access can interrupt the enquiry journey. Unassigned responsibilities often delay diagnosis and resolution.

What is included

  • An initial review of the platform, dependencies and important journeys.
  • Agreed updates and compatibility checks.
  • A backup plan and restoration checks in an agreed environment.
  • Checks of forms, links and key actions following relevant changes.
  • Resolution of agreed issues and a record of completed work.

What we need from you

  • Your website, platform and current difficulties.
  • Important forms, pages, integrations and user actions.
  • Hosting, domain, licence and supplier responsibilities.
  • Appropriate access supplied through a secure process.

Technical maintenance versus content changes

Technical maintenance concerns the platform, dependencies and website operation. Replacing copy, images or product details, or creating another page, is a separate content task. We define which activities belong in the plan.

For WordPress, we consider core, theme and plugin versions, compatibility and a suitable testing route. An update is not simply a button click: affected pages and features need checks afterwards.

Backups, enquiry forms and restoration

A WordPress backup usually needs both files and database content. We agree who creates and stores copies, what period they cover and who can access them. A restoration check in an agreed environment provides better evidence than a file named “backup”.

After relevant changes, checks can cover important pages, links and an agreed test enquiry through to receipt. Troubleshooting and performance work use specific evidence; maintenance is not a promise of absolute security.

Taking over an existing website

Before taking responsibility, we review access, condition, customizations, licences and known issues. Missing source code, expired licences or hosting constraints may require separate work before routine maintenance is feasible.

The plan defines included activities, requests, approvals, schedules and incident handling. Hosting, domains and third-party licences need named owners and payers; unlimited edits and fixed response times are not assumed.

How we work

  1. Review the current condition and constraints.
  2. Define tasks, responsibilities and approvals.
  3. Prepare the agreed recovery option and carry out changes.
  4. Check affected functions and document outcomes and next steps.

How we measure results

We report completed tasks, checked journeys and unresolved dependencies. Performance comparisons use similar conditions; form checks consider the agreed delivery path, not just an on-screen success message.

Scope

Platform, condition, plugins, integrations, change frequency and support requirements determine scope and cost. Major recovery, migration and new functionality may require a separate proposal.

After you enquire

Share your website and describe the requirement. We will discuss an initial assessment and suitable responsibilities before agreeing a maintenance commitment.

Frequently asked questions

Are hosting and paid plugins included?

Only when explicitly agreed. Payment and renewal responsibilities for external services are defined separately.

Can you take over another developer’s website?

After reviewing access, code, licences and condition. Corrective work may be necessary first.

Are unlimited changes and fixed response times included?

Not by default. Activities, volumes, priorities and response arrangements belong in the specific plan.
